With more than thirty years of experience in internal audit, compliance, senior management, HUD auditing, and consulting services for financial institutions and Affordable Housing clients, Melanie DeJohn has an extensive background in two highly Federally regulated fields.  Her experience includes:

• Public Housing Authority Consulting including but not limited to: RAD (initial assessment through staff training), Compliance Reviews, Financial Management Analysis, Organizational structure analysis, Operational efficiency Enterprise Software System conversions, including payroll, Policy and Procedure Review and Updates

• Managing Partner with Henderson and Pilleteri (formally, Henderson & DeJohn)

• Audit Services for Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Authorities, including risk assessments, fieldwork, compliance review and testing and audit report creation and review.  Review of staff workpapers and reports to ensure compliance with Governmental Accounting Standard Board, HUD as well as Governmental Accounting Standards

• Board of Commissioner Audit report presentations and communication throughout audits

• Speaker/Presenter for Alabama Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities and Southeastern Regional Council for the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials

• Preparation of federal and state income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, nonprofit organizations, and individuals

• Vice President of Human Resources – Accounting and Finance, Regions Financial Corporation

• Vice President – Strategic Alliance, Consumer Banking, Regions Financial Corporation

• Assistant Vice President Internal Audit, Regions Financial Corporation.

Melanie is a graduate of the University of Montevallo, in Montevallo, Alabama with a B.S. in Accounting.  She is currently a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). Melanie and her husband, Vic, have one daughter, Sydney.
